Vintage 2009+
After a perfect, long dry autumn we handpicked less than 900g/vine of wonderful, physiologically ripe grapes for a vibrant and alluring Pinot.
Hans' Winemaking Comments+
The grapes were given 6 days to cold-soak before a natural wild yeast initiation of the ferment. The wine spent 21 days on skins before being pressed and transferred into partly new French Allier barriques for malolactic fermentation and further aging for 18 months. Unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Notes+
Enticing flavours of cherries, strawberries, hibiscus and elderflower with earthy, cigar box undertones embraced by a beautiful acidity and soft tannins to tantalise your senses. A charming ‘Burgundian-like” Pinot with great minerality and a deep and long finish, this is an exceptionally complex, concentrated and elegant wine.
