Regular price $428.00 Sale

Our Magnums are presented beautifully in our exclusive wooden boxes (domestic customers only). Best enjoyed with a group of friends and family.

Montepulciano, our iconic Italian Stallion exudes complexity and strength. Yields are kept extremely low to achieve perfect physiological ripeness for natural concentration, complexity and an impressive flavour profile that expresses the soul of Hans’ winegrowing. Real elegance, power, sumptuousness, immensity, and emotion is transmitted by tasting this nectar.

Vintage 2012+

An ideal growing season for our Italian Stallion with a beautiful warm summer! We handpicked only one bunch per shoot for a tiny yield of 700g per vine culminating in full and intense concentration.

Hans' Comment+

Destemmed and whole berry combined for a wild and prolonged wild fermentation to extract the intense flavours and aromas of the healthy fruit. The wine was then aged for 30 months in partly new French oak barrels on its fine lees. No fining or filtration to retain the beautiful aromas and flavours.

Tasting Notes

Warning - not for the faint hearted! A heady nose, displaying aromas of cedar, warm spices, black cherries and red plums. The savoury overtones and great tannin structure offer a fantastic “juicy” mouthfeel. Seductive and elegant this is a wine which drinks wonderfully now and will age gracefully for a long time to come.

Food Matching Suggestions+

All our wines are dry and never over extracted. Sommeliers love them for their ability to easily match with many different foods. Such a powerful wine loves of course hearty dishes but is as lovely to sip and relax at the end of the day - working wonders as a natural sleeping pill...
