Our Magnums are presented beautifully in our exclusive wooden boxes (domestic customers only). Best enjoyed with a group of friends and family.

Montepulciano, our iconic Italian Stallion exudes complexity and strength. Yields are kept extremely low to achieve perfect physiological ripeness for natural concentration, complexity and an impressive flavour profile that expresses the soul of Hans’ winegrowing. Real elegance, power, sumptuousness, immensity, and emotion is transmitted by tasting this nectar.

Vintage 2010+

No cost and time is spare for our mighty Montepulciano. It is the last variety to pick late in April at extremely low yields of 500g per vine to achieve this essence.

Hans' Comment+

The cold soak to enhance the dark colour and intense flavours progressed to a natural spontaneous fermentation of about three weeks followed by a week of skin maceration. After gentle pressing the wine was transferred into French oak barriques and puncheons (30% new) to mature for 24 months on its fine lees. Bottled without fining or filtration to retain the beautiful aromas.

Tasting Notes+

A heady nose, displaying flavours of cranberry and dark ripe plums, underpinned by liquorish and savoury overtones. This is a complex blend of intense ripe fruit enveloped by fine tannins. A voluptuous, smooth and delicate wine which will age gracefully.

Food Matching Suggestions+

All our wines are dry and never over extracted. Sommeliers love them for their ability to easily match with many different foods. Such a powerful wine loves of course hearty dishes but is as lovely to sip and relax at the end of the day - working wonders as a natural sleeping pill...
