A Rare Library Wine of Exceptional Craftsmanship

The 2010 Nebbiolo is a rare gem, never rated due to its small production, but it carries the same elegance and structure as the acclaimed 2014 vintage. This library wine offers a beautifully balanced expression of Nebbiolo, with floral aromas and light red fruit on the nose, and a smooth, juicy palate enriched by layers of cherries, prunes, wild herbs, and truffle. With its remarkable aging potential, this wine will continue to develop like the finest Barolos, but at a fraction of the price. An exquisite alternative to top-tier Barolo, this is an exceptional opportunity for connoisseurs seeking value without compromising on quality.

It took us 15 years of meticulous mass selection to identify our finest Nebbiolo vines, graft them onto the ideal rootstock, and plant them in the perfect site on our vineyard. No expense was spared in crafting this exceptional wine, with grapes hand-harvested at less than 500g per vine from the warm, sandy, and gravelly soils of our single vineyard. Every step was taken to ensure a product that speaks to the very best in winemaking tradition and precision.

Hans' Winemaking Comments+

On release the wine was described as: After three weeks maturation, the Nebbiolo matured gracefully for 30 months in a French oak barrique with no fining or filtration to maintain the flavours and structure of this masculine yet elegant wine.

Tasting Notes+

A deep amazing wine redolent of dark fruit, spices, minerals and liquorice, all of which come together in the glass with superb elegance. It is so structured, intense and rich that it will unquestionably keep for a very long time if you have the heart to keep it aside. Of extreme rarity with only 225 bottles produced!
