Viognier 2011 - Library Wine

Regular price $200.00 Sale

Our iconic Viognier, featured in Michel Bettane’s ‘World Greatest Wines’ and we have dusted off some of these to release especially for our Hans Connoisseur Club Members. Kept in pristine condition in Hans temperature controlled cellar.

Vintage 2011+

We picked our 2011 at a tiny low yield of only 750g per vine. It has retained the deep yellow colour of the ripe grapes and offers a heady wine with rich aromas and flavours of apricot, peach and tropical flowers.

Hans' Winemaking Comments+

Gentle whole bunch pressing was followed by a wild yeast fermentation in French oak puncheons (500lt). The young wine went through a secondary fermentation with its lees regularly stirred. Aged for 18 months in the same barrels before bottling.

Original Tasting Notes+

Declared as one of the ‘World’s Greatest Wines’! Full-bodied with aromas of rose petals, fresh apricots, stone fruits and exotic fruits complemented perfectly by fresh herb and spice undertones. This is a wine of significant weight and texture balanced by a good acidity providing a remarkable backbone to the wine and a wonderful long finish.
